September 16-November 30, 2014

The Block Museum presents The End of eating Everything, a new animated video by Kenyan-born artist Wangechi Mutu.  Join us in September for the opening of Wangechi Mutu: A Fantastic Journey, and be sure stay tuned for a list of fall programming.

The End of eating Everything was presented most recently at Dak'Art 2014, the Biennial of the Contemporary African Art in Dakar, Senegal:  www.biennaledakar.org

The End of eating Everything was commissioned the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University to coincide with the inaugural presentation of Wangechi Mutu: A Fantastic Journey, the artist’s first United States survey, organized by Trevor Schoonmaker, Chief Curator and Patsy R. and Raymond D. Nasher Curator of Contemporary Art. The exhibition, which features more than 50 of Mutu’s works of collage, video, sculpture,  site-specific installations and sketchbook drawings will be presented at the Block Museum from September 19 - December 7, 2014.

The presentation of The End of eating Everything at the Block Museum is made possible by James Geier and 555 International, the Diane and Craig Solomon Contemporary Art Fund, and the Alsdorf Gallery at the Block Museum Quasi-Endowment.
