Details:

Meet the Block Museum Student Associates in our galleries for a close look at newly acquired photographs by artist Derrick Woods-Morrow, currently on view in The Block Collects 2023.

Block Museum Student Associates (BMSAs) are Northwestern undergraduates representing interdisciplinary fields of study from across the university. In the galleries, the BMSAs engage The Block’s visitors in conversations about artworks that spark their curiosity and ideas that are relevant to our lives today.

This talk will introduce the 2022-2023 BMSA Student Acquisition, a selection of four photographs by artist Derrick Woods-Morrow - Her Name was Saartjie | Not Sara (2015), and she was to be ‘seen,’ not watched… (2015), Standing Before Grace (as Grace Jones) (2015) and Frederick on Lake Pontchartrain | after Lincoln Beach (2019).

Programs are open to all, on a first-come first-served basis. RSVPs are not required, but appreciated, as they help us anticipate attendance numbers.
