Group & Class Visits

 Group Booking  Information

  •  Inquiries about visiting the Block Museum may be directed to blockengagement@northwestern.edu.
  •  All groups larger than 10 people are asked to schedule their visit in advance to help manage capacity.
  •  Group size is limited to 25 visitors. If your group is larger than 25, we will work with you to separate the group up into smaller sections in the galleries.
  • Northwestern classes, offices, and student organizations may visit by appointment on Mondays and Tuesdays from 9am-5pm. Other groups may schedule visits Wed-Sun during museum hours:
Mon and Tues: 10am-5pm for pre-scheduled Northwestern classes, offices, and organizations
Wed-Fri: 12-8pm
Sat and Sun: 12-5pm
  • Groups are welcome to explore the exhibition on their own, and to utilize all exhibition resources to support their visit.
  • As capacity and availability allows, groups may request a focused talk on a selection of works from a Northwestern undergraduate in the Block Museum Student Associates or a member of the Block Staff. The majority of our talks are offered by our students.
  • We require a 3 week notice, if you are interested in a facilitated visit

  • The Block specializes in the presentation of exhibitions and public programs that resonate with contemporary life, and with issues and conversations relevant to young adult and adult visitors.  The Block's tours and educational offerings are best tailored to high school, college age, and adult audiences from across the Chicago region.  We are fortunate to be connected to civic museums and arts organizations in Chicago and Evanston best positioned to serving needs of K-8 education and would be happy to make referrals to museum and arts resources for younger groups.

COVID-19 Safety Acknowledgement

The Block Museum complies with local, state, and University guidelines related to the coronavirus pandemic for in-person public events and museum visitation.  Currently, masks are optional throughout the museum.

While masking is not required, the University does recommend masking in areas where distancing is not possible when transmission levels are elevated.
