As a teaching and learning museum, students are central to the Block’s mission—serving as its primary audience and as its ambassadors. Student docents engage the community in the galleries while the Block Student Advisory Board communicates with their peers about Museum programs, plans student events, and encourages wide participation. Students are embedded in all museum operations, from Fellows who curate exhibitions, to interns who manage the group tour program, to student workers who develop outreach and participate in producing events. Students have access to a wide array of experiential learning opportunities at the Block, including interdisciplinary seminars and workshops with renowned artists and scholars, performance-based programs, and classes in the Eloise W. Martin Study Center and the galleries.
